OLYVO

Cookie policy

Last updated: August 2026

The short version: we set one cookie, and only if you sign in. Booking sites you click through to set their own — that is how our commission gets credited. No advertising cookies from us, no tracking pixels, no analytics profiling you around the web.

The cookie we set

NameWhat it doesHow long
olyvo_sessionKeeps you signed in after you click a magic link. It holds a signed token, not your password — there isn't one. Your browser can't read it (httpOnly) and it's sent only to us.30 days, or until you sign out

It’s set only when you sign in, and it’s what the law calls “strictly necessary” — without it, signing in couldn’t work at all. That’s why there’s no cookie banner asking permission for it: there’s no version of a signed-in account that doesn’t need it. Sign out and it’s deleted.

If you never sign in, Olyvo itself sets no cookies on your device at all. Browsing the deals feed and searching fares set nothing — clicking a deal keeps you on this site.

When you follow a Book link

Booking happens elsewhere. When you press Book we hand you to a booking site, and they will set their own cookies — including ones that record you arrived from us. That is how we get paid: if you book, that cookie is what credits the commission to Olyvo, at no extra cost to you.

Those cookies are set by them, on their domain, under their policy — we can’t see them and we don’t control how long they last. Nothing is set on your device until you actually click through.

What we keep on your device

Separately, we use your browser’s localStorage — which stays on your device and is never sent to us — for two small conveniences:

NameWhat it does
olyvo-waitlist-modal-seenRemembers that you've seen the join-the-waitlist popup, so it doesn't nag you twice.
olyvo-waitlistedRemembers that you already joined, so we stop asking altogether.

You can clear these at any time via your browser’s site-data settings; the site simply forgets your preferences.

What we don't do

No advertising cookies, no ad pixels, no cross-site tracking, and no analytics service building a profile of you. We do use error monitoring so we hear about it when something breaks — that’s described in the privacy policy and it doesn’t use cookies.

Emails

Emails we send may include standard open and click measurement (a tiny image and wrapped links). That happens in the email, not on this site, and it’s covered in the privacy policy.

If this ever changes

If Olyvo ever sets a cookie that isn’t strictly necessary, we’ll update this page and ask for your consent before it’s set — not afterwards.
